Hi, I’m Amy.

I’m a Melbourne-based tattoo artist originally from England. I moved to Australia 14 years ago, and I’ve been tattooing for the past 10 years.

I’ve always been drawn to tattooing. From a young age, I was constantly drawing tattoos on my friends and family, long before I ever imagined it would become my career. My background has always been rooted in the arts - from painting and screen printing to studying art - so tattooing felt like a natural way to bring that creativity into something personal and permanent.

I discovered hand-poke tattooing while travelling around the world, and it immediately clicked with me. When I began my apprenticeship, my mentor recognised that I had a particular talent and natural feel for the technique. At the time, hand-poke was still a relatively niche practice in professional tattoo studios, both in Melbourne and across Australia, and I decided to follow that path.

Ten years later, hand-poke remains at the heart of what I do. I’ve become known for my hand-poke work in Melbourne and have had the opportunity to travel internationally for tattoo conventions and guest spots, meeting and tattooing people all over the world.

A more personal approach to tattooing

For me, hand-poke is about more than the technique. I love the slower, calm and intimate nature of the process. I find it creates a more relaxed experience, and many clients appreciate the gentle feel and healing process of their tattoo.

I especially love tattooing black and grey, dotwork, ornamental and blackwork pieces, but I’m open to all styles and colour. Whether you arrive with a fully formed idea or just a vague thought you want to explore, I love working with people to create something that feels right for them.

I also genuinely love people. I know getting a tattoo can feel intimidating — particularly if it's your first — and one of my favourite parts of my job is helping people feel comfortable, relaxed and excited about the experience.

Clients have described my approach as personal and less intimidating, and I’m particularly proud of being someone that first-time tattoo clients feel comfortable with.

Outside of tattooing, I’m inspired by art, fashion, painting and printmaking. I’m always looking at new things, making things and finding inspiration in the world around me.
